Divide and Conquer! Part I

This is the first in a two part editorial about our nation and the plan by some to destroy it...

A New Year has started and with it, a new Presidential Administration is about to take up residency in our White House.  This is a process that has taken place 44 times before, so who cares?  What will be different about this administration?  What will the United States look like in 2020 after 4 years under this president?

The United States Constitution is considered to be the oldest in the world - at least when compared to other "single" ruling documents.  It has survived over two centuries and many tests.  It's longevity can be attributed to God and the hard work of a very intelligent, forward thinking, group of men.  This document was borne out of the Revolutionary War and carried us through several wars which either took place, to some degree, on American soil including - the Civil War, the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, French & Indian War, WWII and the 9/11 Gulf War.  The US Constitution survived 4 presidential assassinations, attempted assassinations and other events which resulted in an abrupt change in presidential power.  The US Constitution also survived slavery, economic depressions and recessions, natural disasters, civil disobedience and myriad other challenges throughout our history.

In the most view, the strength and survival of our nation has been attributed to the way it was created and how it developed over the years.  Our nation was formed by people who left a monarchy, ruled by an oppressive king.  For the next two hundred years, people would leave their homelands where freedom was taken away by those in power; and personal success of any kind was no longer possible; for a chance to have a better life for themselves and their families.   These people would become part of the greatest nation in the world because of their tenacity, patriotism and hard work.

Most of those coming to the United States by their own will, were from Europe where they had lived with some degree of freedom, only to have it stripped away by tyrants or psychopaths.  There were some who desired, but could not come to the United States to start a new life here, whether for economic reasons, because they could not leave family or because they were exterminated by their government. And yes, there were some who did not come because they were willing to sacrifice their freedom to become dependents of their government.

As new citizens, immigrants were welcomed to their new homeland but were expected to assimilate to the American system - our language, our laws and our culture - a small price to pay for what they found to be an amazing opportunity.  Life for these immigrants was so much better in fact, that many of them returned to their homeland, as citizens of the United States and soldiers in our armed forces; to fight for the United States and in many cases, die for what it represents.  It was their love for the United States that gave our military it's strength to prevail through two world wars. It was their love for the United States that made this the most admired nation in the world. 

The early immigrants to the United States learned that by working hard, they could achieve anything,  hence the slogan, "Land of Opportunity".  Through the 1960's, the citizens of the United States could work an 8 hour day, return at the end of the day to their family in the home they purchased with the money they earned from their hard work.  In most homes, the wife (and mother) did not work outside of the home - she didn't have to because the government was not confiscating half of the household income, as they do today.  People worked for themselves and for their families, not for the government and family time meant parents spent time with the children.

Of course, we were not a perfect nation.  There were societal problems that would have to be addressed, but most homes consisted of two dedicated parents who provided food, shelter, parental and spiritual leadership to their children.  The children attended school where they learned reading, writing, arithmetic and history; and how to be contributing members of an ethical society.  Children had their place in society and respected their elders.  As they matured, children contributed to the success of the home by doing chores.  Later, they would begin working outside of the home and eventually leave for college or military service. 

Through this period in our development, our parents, teachers, religious and political leaders encouraged each of us to contribute to a better society.  President John Kennedy told us to, "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."  Martin Luther King told us to judge people by the strength of their character, not by the color of their skin.  The narrative by our leaders directed us as individuals, to become better parents to our children, better teachers to our young, better stewards of the land and better brothers to our brothers.  It was not government's responsibility to support the citizens, but the citizen's responsibility to support the citizens - we were our brother's keeper.  The government was responsible for protecting our nation's borders and the citizens within...and little more...but change was looming.

There were people around the world who did not like our system of government - whether they considered us a threat or competition, the United States, as it stood, must be stopped.  Well funded groups began infiltrating our nation at every level for the sole purpose of  destroying our way of life.  Through their efforts, they would turn us against one another by accentuating our differences.  By doing this, not only would we be willing to fight against one another, but unlike our ancestors, we would not be willing to defend one another.  Because as Sam Houston said, a divided nation cannot stand, this would leave us weak and vulnerable.  It would not be fast, but those looking to destroy us, were willing to wait.

Dividing us would become easier over time as generations died off.  The grateful people who came to America after losing freedom and possessions in their homeland would die.  The people who fought for freedom in WWI and WWII would die. Those who fought against the movement to divide us would die;  and eventually our nation would die.

The change started with the planting of seeds during the 1960's.  Communist and socialist groups would take away the focus on our national security by convincing us that crises exist where they did not.  This plan would expand for years to come.  Among these exaggerated crises were the civil rights movement, sexual revolution, Vietnam War, Watergate, OPEC Oil Embargo, AIDS, police brutality,,,through current times when we have micro-aggression, gay marriage, abortion, transgender rights, healthcare, Ferguson, mass shootings and more police brutality.  All of these, and thousands more similar crises have pitted Americans against Americans by our "leaders", our media and our educators.

To seal our fate, each new generation learns less, particularly about the world and nation's history.  What they are taught is often censored or edited by opinionated educators, media or celebrities.  The information sent over mass media is usually controlled by money or power and is seldom accurate.  Most young people and many older people do not care to learn the truth and will usually base their opinion on mass media soundbites. Sadly, because those who truly suffered are becoming fewer, and those raised on an entitlement mindset are become the majority, nothing short of a complete societal reset will stop the imminent demise of the United States that we have know and loved for 230 years.

Even more disappointing is how close all average Americans really stand in our thinking, but how we allow those in power to divide us by exaggerating our differences. This come from those with extreme views and those in leadership who aim to benefit from our division.  These are the people who hope to see the end of our system of government - the end of our Constitution and the end of our freedom.  A system where money equals power - caste system.  

Some see this as a trend toward a one world government or a new world order.  In recent times, Presidents George H.W. Bush and Barrack Obama spoke publicly about working toward a new world order, so it is not a conspiracy theory, but fact.  Such a one world government would put a few people in control of all people.  This level of power in a small country requires strict limits on freedom.  People who violate the law are severely punished. To tolerate any dissension invites mass rebellion.  On a larger scale, control would be much stronger and punishment, much more severe.

After surviving nearly 230 years of attacks, the U.S. Constitution is on the brink of dissolution.  It will likely not survive another 230 years and may not last another 50 years because the damage done by the anti-American groups is deep.  Our only chance, as I mentioned earlier, is a complete reset.  This would require our young people to become educated on world history - the true history, not the history taught in schools today by radical activists.  It would require the people of our nation to realize how close we are in our thinking; to demand and work toward unity as a people, not as a government.  It would require each of us to think for ourselves and not allow those in power to tell us what to think.  However, even if all of this could happen, our only hope is to turn to God to save us from what appears to be the inevitable end.

Everything I have written above and all that I write in Part II, is to make a point that we are not as divided as some groups would like us to believe.  It is my opinion, based on my observations and participation in politics over the past 45 years.  Some will challenge what I've said in an attempt to debunk my theories or to show how intelligent they think they are.  That's okay.  The fact is, we are a nation divided.  When attribute our nations greatest accomplishment to individuals.  We attribute our nations fails however, to our government.  People make us, government breaks us.  Again, I encourage everyone to think for themselves whether you agree with me or not.  Stay tuned...

It's A Wonderful Life

It was over 2000 years ago that a young woman, pure and clean, was visited by an Angel. Her name was Mary and she was told that she would carry the child of God.  Mary said she was God's handmaid and would accept God's will.  From this, our Savior was born and the world would celebrate his birthday until the end of time. 

What if history did not play out as it did?  What if God had not sent us his son.  What if Jesus had never been born?

In the time of Jesus, mankind was forced to live as those in power chose for them to live.  People who had strength or riches, had power.  Women, the elderly and sick were mistreated or killed.  If you were different or thought different than those in power, you would face a brutal death. 

Very likely, without the birth of the Prince of Peace, life would have only become worse.  Centuries after Jesus was born, came the time of Mohammad and the eventual birth of Islam - a religion that preaches respect for life but imposes terrible penalties on those who do not comply with it's teaching - a belief which is enforced to the highest extreme by radical factions today.  Without Christ and his disciples to teach about peace and forgiveness, Islam and other radical religions may rule the earth today. 

Without the gift of the Son of God given to us, women who disrespect men would be stoned.  Gay men and women would be killed.  Mentally or physically handicapped people would be slaughtered.  Without God sending his son in the form of the Holy Spirit to walk the earth, government sanctioned murder would not be limited to just aborted babies.  People who dared to think for themselves or who opposed those in power would be crucified on a cross.  Technology as we know it - telephones, lights, cars and computers might not exist since free thinking would not be allowed.

If God had not given us the greatest gift of his son so many years ago, December 25 would not be filled with colorful lights, gifts and celebrations with friends and family. It would certainly not be a day off from work.  If the King of Kings had not been born over 2000 years ago, life on earth might not exist today.

There are a growing number of lost sheep today who identify as "atheist".  In the minds of these people, Jesus was not born and did not save us from our sins.  Atheist's have an arrogance about them that allows them to believe that the birth of Jesus, which was prophesied in the Old Testament thousands of years before it happened, never happened.  They somehow believe that they are smarter than thousands of years of recorded history. 

By God's own rule, atheists have the free will to believe as they choose.  Unfortunately, it is their lack of belief or faith which will eventually lead to the end of Christianity and the strengthening of the powers working against God.  In other words, because they choose not to believe, it will be non-Christian and anti-Christian beliefs which will be allowed to flourish and grow.  As Christianity is pushed aside, we will return to the times when men with strength and riches who will determine how we all will live - we need not look far to see it happening all around us today.

Despite what Satan desires and what the lost sheep believe, Jesus was born of the virgin Mary.  Jesus had died on a cross to save us from our sins and Jesus has taught us to love our neighbors and our enemies. But most of all, Jesus taught us that every year on December 25, when we see the star shine bright in the sky and we hear the trumpets sound, a Savior is born - the Christ, Jesus; the Lord of Lords and King of Kings; the Prince of Peace and the salvation of the entire universe.  It is because he was born on this day that we can celebrate this Wonderful Life!  Merry Christmas to All!

Can I Bum A Smoke?

Remember when cigarette smoking was our biggest social issue?  It started when a bunch of people who chose to stop smoking, decided everyone else should also stop smoking.  This group pushed their agenda until governments had the freedom to tax smokers into poverty and employers were allowed, literally encouraged, to discriminate against this single group of people. Oh yeah, these people call themselves "progressive".  

Way back then, many people stopped smoking and just went on with their life.  They didn't try to push their agenda on their neighbors or co-workers.  They stopped smoking, went out and bought a dog or a jigsaw puzzle, and life went on...until...one person thought to himself, "if I can't smoke, nobody should".  That is when it all started  - the progressive movement.  If only his best friend or a co-worker would have punched him upside the head at that moment, life might be better today for everyone.  It's a bit like that going back in time and killing a mosquito - Newton's equal and opposite reaction, third law of physics thing.

Let's take a look back on 2016 to see how one cry baby many years ago, determined how we should live today.

  • Obama spent the past 8 years calling conservatives all sorts of offensive names including, "tea baggers".  Conservatives are labeled as too sensitive for objecting to the name calling.
  • Trump calls Hillary a crook for...being a crook. The left loses their minds.
  • Trump makes an ignorant comment about women a decade ago and women's rights groups protest Trump for disrespecting and exploiting women.  The same women's rights groups are defending women who chose to appear on television in very compromising and sometimes, disgusting situations.
  • Planned Parenthood sells baby parts for profit - and it's okay!?!?!?!
  • Illegal immigrants are allowed to flood into the country unrestricted and un-vetted.  The U.S. President tells them to go ahead and vote in the November national election because they will not get caught.
  • Young people across the nation are given "safe spaces" in colleges and universities; and additional "understanding" when they break the rules in the workplace, because we must be more understanding.  Poor babies.  
  • Young people across the nation are shooting up workplaces, night clubs and colleges and universities; and cutting off the heads of people who do not agree with or "understand" them.
  • Criminals who happen to be black are misunderstood, so they assassinate cops and we are supposed to understand that criminal lives matter.
  • One third of the population is no longer in the workforce but somehow we are expected to accept that only 4.5% of the population is unemployed.  Even more frightening is how many people actually believe that unemployment is only 4.5%
  • Speaking of work, those who work hard are accused of "playing the game".  People who break the work rules are considered trendy or enlightened.
  • Donald Trump is elected President, promising another 4 years of progressive policies, yet progressives are protesting Trump's election and threatening the lives of Electors if they vote as they are obligated to.  Am I the only one that sees a problem here?   
  • Prospering on your own is considered greedy.  Speaking against government provided prosperity is considered racist.
  • Praying to God and belief in Jesus is considered hateful.  Denying God is considered tolerant and understanding.
  • Honoring the U.S. Constitution and the American flag is considered offensive or aggressive.  Burning the flag and disrespecting the U.S. Constitution is considered patriotic?!?!?!
  • Fidel Castro is now a hero.  Glenn Beck, Ted Cruz and other conservatives are considered UN-American.  
This list can go on for weeks but you get where I'm going.  The nation has seemingly lost it's mind and I blame it on the anti-smoking movement.  For so many years we used the smoke break to think through our problems.  

The smoke break was a time to decompress and forget about trivial irritants, like the women standing in the middle of the aisle of a grocery store, reading a label.  If you cannot figure out how to move out of the way, what do you hope to learn by reading a label?  See?  When I smoked, this would not have bothered me.

After coming to the end of one of the most bizarre years in my life, I propose that we all stop for a smoke break.  We need to reel in our sanity.  Let's face it, American Indian's have been using tobacco as medicine for years so there must be something to this dried weed.  At midnight on December 31, let us all start smoking.  Not only will this make the nation a much happier place, but this can be a New Year Resolution we can all keep.  Happy 2017!

Happy New Year??? We'll See...

With the year 2015 sliding into 2016, we turn off the lights on one more year.  This year will end the same way as the other 53 I have lived through - celebrations of all kinds, some men dressed as much older men with a sash across their chest, identifying them father time; and others dressed as babies, representing the new year; both so drunk they will not remember tomorrow what they did tonight.

This year however, will end just a little different for me.  You see, I am very concerned about what the new year will bring.  It's not that I am psychic or super intelligent - well, not psychic anyway, but my gut is very reliable and my gut is worried, making the rest of me worry.  Anyone who questions the insight of my gut merely need go back to my earliest blogs when Obama first overthrew our nation.  I hope my gut is wrong this time, but if not, we are in big trouble!

The new year will bring a highly anticipated election - maybe.  Let me explain...Anyone who knows me, knows that I have supported Ted Cruz for President before Ted Cruz probably knew he would run.  It was his filibuster during the Obamacare vote that I decided Ted Cruz is the best thing for our nation.  Since then, my support has only strengthened.  I said several times and still believe that Ted Cruz is to the United States today, what Ronald Reagan was in 1980.  This election year, our nation will not survive without Ted Cruz, and ONLY Ted Cruz, leading this nation.  Even still, I am not sure Ted Cruz can fix it, but he is our only hope!

There are a few problems of tremendous concern to me, that may steer this election and this nation into total collapse.  I believe what I am about to say to be true and unavoidable.  I hope I am completely wrong, but if I am even a little accurate, it is frightening.

As I already said, our only hope for survival as the United States of America is to elect Ted Cruz and to bring the nation back on track, following and enforcing the Constitution, as designed by our forefathers. This is the ONLY hope we have! There are three other probable election outcomes, none of which offers any hope.

1.  I have maintained from the start - Donald Trump is a shill for Hillary! Donald Trump is not a conservative and the support he receives from some very intelligent conservatives, including my brothers, some friends and even Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter - has me stunned.  Here is my logic - Donald Trump is a known and admitted friend and supporter of the Clintons.  He said he supported them for political reasons - don't believe it.  Next, during the first debate, Donald Trump said he became a Republican months ago after realizing the democrats were wrong.  Essentially, Trump claimed he made a 180 degree shift in his political ideology over a matter of weeks, citing Ronald Reagan as a precedent.  In fact, Reagan did not make much of a shift - he was a conservative democrat, turned moderate Republican.  His metamorphosis took place over decades, not weeks.  Furthermore, a conservative in the 1980's had a political ideology similar to a 1960's democrat, so it was more a change in party ideology than a change in Ronald Reagan, himself.  As an example, remember Kennedy's speech - "Ask not what your country can do for you..."  Imagine these words being uttered by a democrat today.  I maintain, Trump is not conservative!


So, what is the plan, you ask?  It is established already that Hillary will be the democratic nominee.  It is also safe to assume that in a debate, Ted Cruz would wipe the streets with Hillary.  So a strong candidate such as Cruz, must be neutralized - and here is how this will be done.

Initially, the plan is for Trump to be the Republican nominee.  As the nominee, Trump will not receive women or Hispanic votes, both of which are needed for a Republican to win the election - in other words, Trump is not electable.  For the conservative Trump supporters who will say things like, "Every woman or Hispanic person I know, is planning to vote for Trump";  you are either lying, ignorant or you know the only women and Hispanic people who will vote for Trump!  The VAST MAJORITY from these two groups will NOT vote for Trump - and he and Hillary know it.  It is part of their plan!  The result?  Hillary is elected.
2.  Now, let's suppose plan A fails and someone else wins the nomination for the Republicans - let's assume it is Ted Cruz.  In this example, Trump will launch an independent candidacy, splitting the conservative vote and again, giving the White House to Hillary.  This is their Plan B. Ho ho, you say, what's this - but Trump vowed not to run as an independent, remember?  Yeah, you missed the part throughout this blog where Trump has been discredited and shown to lack any integrity at all.  In other words, he lied.
3.  Not one to fail, Trump has a Plan C.  What if the American people suddenly recover consciousness and realize the piece of garbage who is Hillary, forcing her to end her campaign in disgrace?  While this is not likely, rest assured, Michelle Obama is waiting in the wings.  In fact, I have said since long before Hillary became a candidate that Michelle planned to run - the fact that most of the dirt on Hillary has been leaked by the Obama administration, only strengthens my case - and I am not willing to concede this is not still part of Barry's and Michelle's plan.  We'll see at convention time - if we make it.

I believe I have established that only by a miracle will Ted Cruz become our next President.  Since I believe in miracles, I am confident we still have a chance.  I am not confident however that Ted Cruz will ever take his seat in the Oval Office.  This leads me to the second major concern of 2016...

Our nation is more divided that at anytime in modern history - possibly going back to the civil war.  The fault of this division rests on Obama!  He has consistently fueled racist tensions, anti-police, military and anti-Christian ideals in this nation.  He has acted illegally by circumventing the Constitution to enact many restrictions on the good people in our nation, while turning bad people into martyrs and heroes.  He has released known terrorists to fight against our troops and called a soldier who abandoned his unit, a hero.  He, with Hillary, had looked on while our ambassador and marines were murdered and eviscerated in Benghazi.  In short, he has pushed the American people to the brink of revolt - and he is saving the best for last.  Among his next tricks, he will take illegal actions to take away our 2nd amendment right to own firearms.  While I am not sure how the American people will react, Obama is certain this act will be the final straw, bringing the people to the streets in revolt.  This will give Obama the "perceived" justification he will need to enact Marshall Law.  Through Marshall Law, the good Americans will be called criminals - imprisoned or killed...and the 2016 election will be cancelled, beginning the new era of the Obama dictatorship or as he calls it, "fundamental change" - consider this, Rahm Emanuel did not go to Cuba over Christmas because the store sales are better.

Obama has shown love and loyalty to radical Islam and they will reward him for his loyalty.  This leads me to my next huge concern.  Even as the Soviet Union (yep, I said it) continues to move across Europe and the middle east, Obama appears oblivious.  In reality, Obama only looks stupid.  He knows exactly what he is doing.  With the introduction of tens of thousands of Muslim refugees from Syria, most of whom are fighting aged men, Isis will launch major attacks in the U.S., aimed to create chaos, kill Americans and distract us from Obama's final blow to the Constitution - the suspension and burning of the foundation of our system.  Isis has been imported without anyone knowing and despite objections from Congress.  As Obama strips our guns and creates revolution in our streets, Isis will work on behalf of Obama, to kill millions of Americans in the streets.  Since I will defend my nation and my Constitution to my death, I know where I will go, but I will take as many as I can with me.

With the United States dissolved and fallen into death and destruction, the Soviet Union will move through Europe, like a hot knife through butter.

It is a very negative picture I am painting, to be sure.  I want it to be completely untrue - Ted Cruz takes over the White House in January 2017 and our recovery begins.  Unfortunately, I fear the year will move in the frightening direction as described above.  The actual events may fall somewhere in the middle, but even this would be tragic for the greatest nation on God's earth.

I would like to say Happy New Year, but instead I will say I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and party like mad over the next few days because one year from now, things will be much different.  For those who said it would never happen, it is happening as we speak, faster than imagined.  Be ready for your salvation by giving your soul to Jesus and may God save us all.

Gay Marriage from the Perspective of a Gay Conservative

The Supreme Court handed down a decision this past week on gay marriage.  The court decided that the +/- 1500 year tradition of marriage, widely believed by Christians to be a religious institution and sacrament, joining one man and one woman, is not legal.  In this single decision, a group of 5 people set the stage which will ultimately change the legal validity of one of the most fundamental beliefs of the Christian (and any other) faith.   

According to Justice Kennedy, the 14th amendment gives everyone the right to marry – stretching the intentions of one simple paragraph within the amendment:


“No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”


The court also commented that religious freedom would have protection under this ruling, adding that businesses or organizations (Churches) could not be forced to act against their beliefs under this ruling.  Justice Scalia however disagrees, saying he expects additional challenges to come from this ruling.  I agree with Justice Scalia.  After all, if it is legal for same gender couples to marry, couldn’t it be argued that this law applies everywhere?   I expect it will be argued, placing religious freedom in jeopardy.


As a conservative, this decision was nothing more than a panel of 5, not interpreting, but creating a law which will negatively impact the religious freedom of Christians, Jews, Muslims and all other people of faith.  This ruling was nothing short of the judicial branch of our government acting illegally, in sync with an executive branch, run a muck.


As a Christian, I feel that nobody should discriminate against another person because of their skin color, their national origin or their “gender attraction”.  Contrary to the opinion of Justice Thomas, this ruling however, is not about any of those things.  If we were arguing the right for a gay person to patronize a business or attend religious services, I would feel much different.  In this case however, we are arguing the rights of a group of activists, 5 judges and a rogue President to force a religious group, Christians for purposes of this post, to change their fundamental beliefs.  


Why do I call them activists?  A person fighting for the right to the same benefits provided to married couples – the right to visit their partner in a hospital or a right to “next of kin” status, and so forth, can be granted through a civil union law.  Most Christians believe a civil union is similar to marriage, without the religious endorsement – a point of contention by many opponents.  From a religious standpoint, any union outside of a religious institution is a civil union.  For any group to seek a legal decision which will force a religion to change or violate it’s fundamental beliefs, is nothing more than activism…and it is wrong!


As a Christian, I have been taught that marriage is the joining of a man and woman for purposes of advancing the human race through procreation.  My faith has taught me some basic rules – sex outside of marriage is a sin and sex for any reason other than procreation is a sin.  Since my faith does not allow for same gender marriage and sex among two people of the same gender can never result in the creation a child, sex between two people of the same gender is therefore, always a sin.  


With this said, the Bible does not differ on the severity of the types of sexual sin, i.e., it is equally sinful for a man and woman to engage in sex before marriage; sex while married for any reason other than procreation; and masturbatory sex.  As a Christian, I know I am a sinner as we all are, so I do not condemn myself, or judge anyone for committing these sins – but I accept that they are sins for which I am expected to seek forgiveness.  


As a Christian, American who is also gay, I feel I am amply qualified to speak for myself on this subject.  Many people do not know that I am gay.  At 52, single and still pretty darn good looking, I am sure that many suspect or assume that I am gay, but because I have never defined myself as gay, it has never been relevant, until now – “not that there is anything wrong with it”. 

For those who may wonder why I never told them I am gay, it is because you never asked.  As a gay man though, I am bothered by people, gay and straight, who presume to think for me.  Unlike others, I do not define myself by my gender attraction  [I do not use sexual preference because it is not a preference, it is an attraction.  I am attracted to some people of the same gender, but no one of the opposite gender.  Chocolate over vanilla ice cream is a preference because I can have either but choose one over the other.]  
I define myself first, as a Christian, next as an American, then as a man,,,and somewhere down the line, as a gay man.  Just as I do not expect a straight person to come to me and tell me they are straight, I do not feel the need to tell you I am not, unless I will be in a situation where this information may be relevant – a camping trip, for example.  I don’t care who you are attracted to, unless it is me; and you should not care who I am attracted to, unless it is you.  


Gay groups feel that gay people are deserving of special treatment.  Gay groups have tried to place the gay community at the same level as blacks, women or the blind; or any other minority group.  Gay groups are the only minority group that feels they deserve special treatment solely on the basis of their gender attraction.  As for me, I am special because I am one of God’s children, but I am not special because I am gay.  When you look at me, you will first see me as short, bald and overweight (but still good looking).  You will judge me based on these features before you ever, if ever, consider whether I am gay or straight.  While I have not always been bald and overweight, I have always been gay (and good looking) and have always believed as I believe today.


I also do not consider being gay as a handicap entitling me to special rights or privileges.  I believe that God created me as I am for a reason.  It was not a punishment or a practical joke, but part of his greater plan.  When I was younger it was difficult to understand why I was different, and I prayed to be changed. As a child, then later as a young teen, though I knew I was different, even as I constantly asked God to make me “normal”, I never questioned my faith.  For any gay person reading this, you can certainly relate like no straight person can.  


As I aged, I realized that it was not about me, but what God chose for me.  I believe that married couples fulfill his plan through their dedication and hard work to create and raise a family of faithful servants of God.  While married couples are expected by God to honor each other, I believe God desired for single people to be dedicated only to his great name.  This would certainly explain my unconditional, unwavering and lifelong faith.


As a Christian, conservative, gay man, I am in an exclusive group.  But within my group are people who believe that we must fight to save our faith and our nation from those who seek to destroy it.  We do not judge people based on race, national origin, gender attraction or religion. To do so would not be consistent with our Christian faith.  As a supporter of Ted Cruz, a proud and vocal Christian who also opposes the action of the Supreme Court, I don’t know if he would welcome me as a supporter but suspect that he would.  Unlike many Christians, I believe Ted Cruz is a true Christian who follows his faith and avoids judging others.  

Unlike many activist gay men and women,  I am a man who cares about my country and will not vote on a single issue.  I am an American who honors the flag of red, white and blue, not a flag of divisive rainbow colors.  It would be great to have my chosen candidate agree with everything I believe, but I will support the person who is best for our nation. Today, the nation needs someone who will fight to save our system of government, our Constitution - This is Ted Cruz!


The activists and left wing progressives have claimed to be the party of the under-privileged, yet they seek to take away the very freedoms which allow all people to live together despite their differences, religious freedom in this case.   As they see it, everyone should have equal rights as long as they are biased toward, or in full agreement with their thinking.  Most conservatives in my circles believe everyone should have the rights granted us by the Constitution, with their differences tolerated, even if they are not supported; but not to the extent that one group should lose their rights in order to extend special privileges to another group.  The only exception being made for those who are unable to take care of themselves.


Again, in the Christian faith, marriage is a sacramental union between a man and a woman.  A religious union is also afforded protections under civil law.  In a civil union, a couple – man and woman, woman and woman or man and man; gay or straight; can, should and in many states, does have a right to be joined, giving the couples the same legal rights as they would enjoy in a marriage, without the religious endorsement.  Potentially under a civil union, as friends age and spouses die, two life-long friends would be able to create a legal, non-sexual, union for purposes of having someone to make important decisions on the other person’s behalf - someone to be an end of life companion.  After all, for most of us, sex will not be as important at 80 as it was at 20.


There has been and will continue to be much discussion on this ruling.  People who think as I think will be called “haters” and "homophobes", which is why I feel it is important that I speak from my perspective as a Christian, American man who happens to be gay.  I have gay friends and have been in relationships, albeit by choice, not for the past several years. I support all of my gay friends in their relationships.  Most people who know me, whether they are gay or straight, also know my feelings about gay marriage.  In every aspect of their life, I believe a gay couple has a right to live as they choose, but when it threatens my religion or tries to pit me against my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; this is where I draw my line.  My gay brothers and sisters, how can we ask to be allowed to live in peace, if we are not willing to let others do the same?  

Finally, the opposition says they are not trying to take away our religious freedom. The opposition either does not believe in God or believes that "God hates gays".  If this is true, why would you want to be married in a church?  

If, on the other hand, you are Christian and gay, you know that even though Jesus loves you, gay sexual activity is a sin so gay marriage would also be disallowed.  My questions here are, what do you expect to gain from the Supreme Court decision?  Do you think the Supreme Court has the ability to over-rule Jesus?

Sunshine, Butterflies, Rainbows & Lollipops...

Okay, I admit it - I've become a "tinfoil hat, the sky is falling, conspiracy theory, conservative hack".  I stick to my God, my gun and my principles.  The question however, is why am I like this, but why haven't you become more like me.  You see, I am not a politician, so I do not say anything to win a vote and I do not see little green or gray men.  When I make a statement, it is based on research and history.  So, you wonder, why am I warning of the coming doom?

In January of this year, the President spoke to us about a booming economy.  He said that while we had a way to go, we were in a period of solid recovery because of what he has done.  Fortunately, he had statistics to back him up - retail sales had shot up by the highest percentage in several years.  Some might say this increase was "puffed" for the benefit of the President's State of the Union Address.

Many people, some famous and some not so famous like myself, looked at these numbers and previous period numbers with a healthy level of scrutiny.  Sure, spending is up and that is a good thing, but employment numbers remain seriously depressed, fuel prices are starting to inch up, tensions in the middle east are on the rise, beef and pork prices are escalating at a near alarming  rate, health care services and coverage are soaring.  Unfortunately, if you get your news from ABC, CBS, NBC or MSNBC; or CNN, you do not hear much about this - details are non-existent.  These are statistics you must learn by doing research, by observing and by living.

How many people, for example, know that bird flu is killing millions of chickens and turkeys in the US?  How many people know that turkey may be in very short supply and very expensive by Thanksgiving?  How many people know that if you like chicken, you may want to consider stocking up? 

We've heard the administration boast about how unemployment has fallen to a remarkable 5.4% in April, but...
How many people know that 190,00 off the 200,000 jobs created in April were part-time, no benefit positions?
How many people know that this is not news, but has been the trend throughout Obama's administration?
How many people know that as of today, over 93 million Americans are no longer in the workforce.
How many people know that 93 million eligible, but non-working, people represents over 30% of the eligible worker population in the US? 
How many people have by now, calculated that, part-time and under-employed not withstanding, these figures result in an unemployment rate well above 30%? 
How many people know that Obamacare, which has resulted in skyrocketing premiums for employer provided health insurance, will increase even more after employer mandates kick in?
How many people know that Obamacare has already resulted in costs far greater than we were told, big surprise, by our President?
How many people know that these incredibly high healthcare costs cannot be paid for by the unemployed?
How many people know that the healthcare costs of over 93 million people no longer in the workforce, will have to be covered by those who are in the workforce?
How many people know that the healthcare of the illegal immigrants, let in by Obama in an attempt to gain favor with the Hispanic community, will be covered by the American taxpayer, including those who immigrated legally?
How many people have calculated by now, that the number of people no longer in the workforce, 93 million, will grow at a rapidly increasing rate as employers are driven out of business by these skyrocketing healthcare rates?

Now, specific to the economy...
We've saw a jump in retail spending in the last few months of 2014 and in January of 2015, which Obama used to brag about his achievements in the State of the Union, but...
How many people know that retail spending usually increases during this time of year because of, I don't know...HOLIDAY spending???

The retail numbers however, dropped off in February, quite significantly, year over year.  The administration told us it was because of cold weather and snow in the northeast.  Apparently, if the people in the northeast cannot shop, neither can the people in our other 45 states...

How many people know that while the weather was harsh in the New England states for a two month period, it usually is cold and snowy in New England in the winter?  Can you say "Nor-easter"?
How many people know that it was very snowy and bitterly cold from November 2014 through March 2015 in the Midwestern states and the northeast, yet retail sales for that period were not negatively affected to the level they were affected for a two month blast in a much smaller area this year?
How many people know that retail sales increase each year between February and May - because of income tax refunds. 
How many people know that retail sales did not increase, but were anemic or dropped during the same period this year?  Unless there is a huge bump in May sales, to be released around June 13, be afraid...
How many people know that industrial output has fallen for the past 5 months?
How many people know that this is a sign of the coming of a poor economy?
How many people know that manufacturing in the US took a hit in April after stalling in March?
How many people know that this is another sign of a doomed economy?
How many people will blame all of this on the Republican congress.  Trust me, we are already hearing whispers of this from the left.

Earlier this week, the news reported that consumer confidence is up 111% since 2000.  What this newscast did not tell me is that consumer confidence is down in May, by the greatest amount in 2 years -  about 10%. 

I have always said that a biased report can shape our economy.  If enough people are told enough times that the economy is dead, they will start to believe it and will stop spending.  When spending stops, the economy fails.  This is what I believe happened to George H.W. Bush in 1990.  If the media presents the information without bias, the market will drive the appropriate results.

Today, we have seen the opposite - the mainstream media telling us over and over, how well the economy has recovered. We hear the President telling us how we are practically re-living the great times of the 80's and 90's.  All of this upbeat hype has helped to buoy the economy, but lies can only cover so much.  You can tell people they have money and they can believe you, but eventually when they reach in their pocket, they will find only lint...and lint has no value.

People are starting to find lint.  People are starting to realize that maybe the economy is not booming.  Maybe it is not all Sunshine, butterflies, rainbows and lollipops.  Maybe, just maybe, the reason we are hearing one thing, but seeing something completely different is because we are being lied to.  Or maybe the days to come will be so bad that we will look back on today as the days of Sunshine, butterflies, rainbows and lollipops.  As for me, I am trading in my tinfoil hat for a hard hat because it is going to be a bumpy ride.

Heroes and Thugs!

It is all confusing.  This week we learned that thugs are heroes, cops are thugs and racists call people thugs.  What does all this mean?

Well, it started when a career criminal, Freddy Gray, died while in custody.  Freddy, it appears, has a robust criminal record.  Because Freddy died while in police custody, he somehow became an American hero - to some. It turns out that the investigation into Freddy's death shows that 6 police officers may have had something to do with Freddy's death, though it has yet to be proven in court.Amid all of this craziness, we have learned that using the word "thug" to describe the thugs burning down Baltimore is now racist.

Let's do some analysis...

First, Freddy Gray is a thug.  He has a long criminal background culminating with his arrest which led to his death.  Freddy Gray is not a hero, never was and never will be.  He is a criminal who faced an unreasonable punishment for his crime, but he is not a hero.

Next, the six police officers who have been charged with Freddy's death have not been tried or found guilty.  Until they are found guilty by a jury of their peers, they are considered innocent.  If they are found guilty, these officers are actually bigger thugs than Freddy Gray or the thugs who burned down Baltimore.  They are worse because they are entrusted with enforcing the law and expected to follow the law.  If we cannot trust the police, where does that leave us?

A developing story related to the charges filed against the police, is that black leaders in Baltimore are supporting the three black police officers, saying that they were not involved in Freddy Gray's death.  The assumption here is that while all 6 officers were present, only the white officers committed the crime.  In other words, because it would look bad to show that black cops can be bad, the community leaders are making excuses for them so the white cops can shoulder the blame.

Now about the term "thug".  This term has been used to describe bad people for decades.  It is a term which describes criminals.  It does not single out black people or Asian people or Hispanic people or white people, but bad people!  For a black leader to call anyone using this term, is arguably racist himself.  The leader said that the term, "thug" is the equivalent of the the "n" word.  It would appear that he believes all black people are thugs, or criminals, or have criminal leanings.  It's true the term thug does define black criminals, but it also defines Asian, Hispanic, white or any other criminals.

Finally, it's too bad that we have reached a point when we find it acceptable to burn down cities, kill innocent people and take away their livelihood, in the name of social justice.  The cops, if guilty of murder, are thugs.  The people who burned down Baltimore and injured innocent people and cops, are thugs.  The mayor of Baltimore, who set aside an area for those who want to destroy property, is a thug.  None of these people are heroes, none of the behaviors of these people is acceptable. 

We have changed our culture to the point that we have become tolerant of intolerant behavior.  We have reached a point where irrational actions have become rational.  We have turned criminals into heroes and heroes into criminals.  We have fallen so far in our nation that we can no longer recognize morality when we see it... and wonder if or when we may see it again.
