Money Heals Any Problem...

The Devil told our Savior to worship him, "and all you see will be yours!"  For a young Jesus, we may think this to be an overwhelming temptation.  In truth though, Satan never had a chance.  If Jesus pondered the offer, even for a moment, it was merely to play with Satan's weak mind and empty soul.

Almost 2000 years later, we mock the life of Jesus in this and every other challenge he encountered.  For promises of higher pay, we will lie about a co-worker.  To gain a sale over the competition, we will make up stories about their business ethics. To move ahead in our careers, we will turn a blind eye to every thing we witness that is wrong or inappropriate.  These are the behaviors of man which, to a Christian, will anger or sadden our Savior.  Yet, these behaviors are ubiquitous.

In government, our leaders have capitalized on our weaknesses to the extent that our nation has become Satan's caldron and the people are the ingredients in Satan's soup of sin.  Our leaders are Satan's servants who stir the soup with their spatula of power.  As I watch the nation fall prey to the temptations of evil, if I did not know better, I might think that Satan is winning the war against goodness.  I know without doubt however, that God will prevail.

During the past months, weeks and days; in an effort to win the next election, our leaders at every level, have spent billions of dollars on social welfare programs without having the money to pay for them.  To the leaders, it does not matter if the programs can be paid for.  To them, all that matters is the people they represent are happy with their work so they may be re-elected.  When on rare occasions, a politician speaks the truth; they are vilified by their opposition and the media alike.  Unlike times past, today, the facts do not matter.  Despite the fact that information is available with the touch of a keyboard, we have become more ignorant or complacent than at anytime in our history.  It is because of this that the media and our leaders find it so easy to lie to the public.  If the wrong information is presented as truth, whether by accident or by convenience; if the public believe the information, it will become the truth.

Learning the truth takes nothing more than observing the strategies of the politicians.  Understanding that the liberals have found great success in governing by fear and greed, we can assume that any platform which is based on either of these ideas, is likely not fact based.  The current platform has both, the President and the governors of several liberally governed states, including Illinois; have began using the minimum wage laws as their primary platform.  As with Obamacare, these elected officials are seeking to win their next contest by promising to give more money to people by creating minimum wages as high as $15 per hour.  For our federal government to use this as an issue is terribly patronizing, as most states currently have minimum wage laws far exceeding federal levels.  None-the-less, if it wins elections, the facts do not matter.

Most governors already know that punitive minimum wages do not help employment be increase unemployment. Small business simply cannot afford to pay these higher wages without raising prices to a level which will make it impossible for them to compete.  This will force many small businesses to close their doors.  Also, if you are currently paying experienced personnel $15 per hour, which up to now has been considered a reasonable wage. by creating a $15 per hour minimum wage, the wages of all employees will be driven higher.  This will place even more pressure on small business, driving more small businesses out of business, which this state cannot afford.

Of course, none of this is news to our lawmakers.  This is an example of Satan's work.  The sinful greed of lawmakers have forced them to offer benefits which they know are not affordable.  For those who do not want to have their integrity questioned, they will keep their promises.  Unfortunately, the cost of them keeping these promises will be the greater suffering of our nation.  Since constituencies are also suffering from the sin of greed, they elect these lawmakers.  They do not understand or care that they will be paid an unfair, inflated wage for the vote.  They only care that they receive the inflated wages.  They do not care that it is unfair that they receive the higher wage without making an effort to gain an education or to work for years to gain experience.  They only care that they are given "their share".

Through natural progression, this election promises to bring candidates to the edge.  We may even hear some of them giving praise to evil.  The 2014 elections will be fought and won on greed, which is something we did not often see before 1988.  Our politicians believe that money will heal any problem - taking it from the rich and giving it to the poor.  Our electorate believes the same thing - take if from the rich and give it to me.  For the public, rich is defined as anyone who has more money than I.  For business managers and owners, we know that money will not heal, but will hide any problems.  We know that the money will eventually be gone, but the problems will remain until a permanent solution has been found.

Remember this when listening to Pat Quinn, a career politician; comment that Bruce Rauner, a business man; is "out of touch"!  For Pat Quinn to believe this himself,  then he also must believe that daytime is dark and nighttime is light.
